The Independents New Work Festival
ABOUT THE SHOW
Presented in the intimate Courtyard Studio, this curated festival brings together four compelling new works from Canberra and Sydney, showcasing artists pushing the boundaries of contemporary performance. Audiences can choose their own festival experience: see a single show, enjoy a dynamic double bill, or immerse themselves in all four works with a festival pass.
Across two weeks, each evening pairs one Canberra-made work with one from Sydney, creating a unique dialogue between artists and creative communities. Week One (9–11 October) features Mikelangelo’s heartfelt and genre-defying In the Belly of the Whale alongside TOI’s visceral physical theatre work ICHOR. Week Two (14–16 October) presents Little Dove Theatre Art’s powerful dance theatre work The Fool (or Francesca Giselle) and Frumpus’ wildly imaginative performance Landed.
Cultural access builds a more creative, connected and open society.
